Business Leadership in the Age of AI – my key takeaways from Day 1 Tech Show London! 🤖

Tech is evolving fast, and leaders must drive innovation while managing risk.

Day 1 of Big Data & AI World London delivered powerful insights on AI, leadership, and digital transformation!

🚀 First Principles Thinking – Chris Barton showed how real innovation comes from challenging assumptions and removing friction rather than just improving existing tech.

⚖️ AI Ethics & Regulation – Baroness Joanna Shields warned about AI’s risks in cybercrime and misinformation. Businesses must embed safety-by-design and align with regulations.

🏎 High-Performance Teams – Claire Williams (F1) highlighted data-driven decision-making and resilience as key to success – lessons leaders can apply to any fast-moving industry.

🔥 I loved the session on GenAI Leadership Strategies for Success – thanks to the energetic and insightful panel featuring: Cassandra Vukorep, Neil O’Connor (loved the tip on 5 min app development – we can all do it!), Paul Kerrison, Sue Daley OBE (great hosting!), Andrei Lebed & Justin Cormack. They all tackled adoption challenges, skills gap and ensuring responsible business transformation.

Key Takeaways for Leaders:

➤ Challenge assumptions – innovation starts with rethinking norms!
➤ AI governance is a C-suite priority, not just an IT issue
➤ Culture drives success – tech alone isn’t enough
➤ Align AI strategies with government initiatives for growth
➤ Remove friction – make AI adoption seamless, not complex

So many great sessions, but clashes meant tough choices! Excited for more insights today and wrapping up with the Women in Tech UK networking event. Bring it on! 🚀
